What a day!

This black cat is another painting that my neighbor MO is buying for a friend of hers. The cat was based on one of our cats, Pur - she's a buff colored cat but the lady that is going to get the painting has a black cat so I improvised. I'm happy with the way it turned out, though I do see places I could improve but it needs to go to it's new home.

Drove home today in a lightening storm. At times it was raining so hard I could hardly see the front of my car and with lightening striking all around it was a very exciting ride home. It reminded me of a day when my daughter and I were coming home from Boise. It had been raining really hard so there was a lot of water on the road. We were passing a big semi, a mist was flying up from the trucks wheels, the sun had come out and just as we got along side the truck a rainbow developed all around us. We were driving in the rainbow for almost 5 minutes, the colors surrounding us and I keep my speed even so that we could stay in the magic. It was so awesome and magical and something that the two of us always smile about whenever we see a rainbow.

Keep it going

Current painting not completely done so posting a fav poem instead.

who knows if the moon's
a balloon,coming out of a keen city
in the sky-filled with pretty people?
(and if you and i should

get into it,if they
should take me and take you into their balloon,
why then
we'd go up higher with all the pretty people

than houses and steeples and clouds:
go sailing
away and away sailing into a keen
city which nobody's ever visited,where

always
it's
Spring)and everyone's
in love and flowers pick themselves

Latest Paintings

Well, finally got these images uploaded. Finsihed the blackbird on Sunday. The dove was finished a
few weeks ago and has gone on to it's new home. And I have two more to do for MO before she moves to Scotland. I cannot even imagine her leaving. She has been such a big part of our lives for almost 10 years and next month she will be 1/2 way around the world. But that is where her family is and we can't blame her for wanting to be closer to them as she grows older. But I am so going to miss her, probably more than either of us knows.

Jumping on the blog wagon

Well, finally taking the big blog step. Not sure who will even be visiting or reading, but felt it might be time to try one. Hopefully I will be posting my artwork, pouring out some thoughts and venting, depending on the mood. So now I'm off to figure out how to post photos and find this once I leave this screen.
